Short version: MotoWild is independent. We do not sell anything, we do not take commission on the links on this site, and no brand can pay to change what we write. Every calculator shows its formula, and every figure links to where it came from.
How the calculators are built
Each calculator uses a standard engineering relation from a named textbook or standard, listed on its page. The formula is shown, then worked through with your own numbers. Before a calculator goes live, its formula is implemented twice, once in the site’s engine and once independently, and both must give the same answers on a set of test cases.
Calculators give engineering estimates, and each page says where its assumptions stop. Where a result depends on a figure that makers rarely publish, such as drag area or a bike’s own electrical load, the page says so and asks for your number instead of guessing. For safety-critical work such as brakes, suspension and fastener torque, your service manual’s figures come first.
Where our facts come from
Bike specs, prices and model-year changes come from makers’ pages, launch reviews, road tests and spec databases, linked on every page. When sources disagree, we say so and show the range rather than picking the number that suits the story. When a maker does not publish a figure, we write “not stated”, never a guess.
Links
When a page links to a maker, a magazine or a database, it is there so you can check the details yourself. We earn nothing from those links, and we link to whichever page has the best information.
Corrections
Makers update their figures and we make mistakes. If you spot something wrong, tell us. We check it against the source, fix the page and update the date at the top.
How MotoWild is funded
MotoWild is self-funded. If we ever carry advertising or a sponsor, it will be labelled clearly and kept apart from calculators, data and comparisons. A sponsor will never be able to change a result, a ranking or a conclusion.
Not affiliated
MotoWild is not affiliated with KTM, Yamaha, CFMoto, Voge, Kove, Benelli or any other maker. Product and brand names belong to their owners.
